2014 — The First Vines

A family that chose to farm with the land, not against it.

When Jenny and Marcus planted their first vines in 2014, they made a quiet decision: to build a winery that gives more than it takes. Today, with their four children and a small team, they tend a certified-organic estate just two miles from downtown Davis — about thirty minutes from Sacramento.

Jenny leads the winemaking, having completed the UC Davis program. Marcus, an expert in biological agriculture, tends the soil. The vineyard itself was designed alongside UC Davis Viticulture & Enology professors.

The Terroir

Rincon loam, warm days, and the Delta Breeze.

Our wines are shaped by place. Deep Rincon loam soils hold the warmth of long Yolo County days, while cool nights — carried in on the Delta Breeze — preserve acidity and aromatic poise. We farm sustainably and regeneratively: deficit irrigation, permanent cover crops, and grapes fermented with native wild yeast before a gentle rest in oak.

  • Certified organic by CCOF
  • Native / wild-yeast fermentation
  • Deficit irrigation & permanent cover crops
  • Gentle oak aging, from subtle to 100% new French oak
A Living Estate

More than a vineyard — a farm that feeds a community.

Lavender for charity

A lavender field blooms from mid-May to mid-July; proceeds from fresh-cut lavender go to local charities.

An orchard that gives

Peaches, pluots and plums from our mixed orchard — much of it donated to Community Harvest and the Yolo Food Bank.

Peppery estate olive oil

Pressed from olives picked roughly 75% green for a bright, peppery finish.

Estate & Architecture

The restored 1860 Great Barn.

At the heart of the estate stands the Great Barn, built in 1860 and lovingly restored — its original character intact. A Spanish-style winery, towering canary palms, and the original 1860 one-bedroom homestead (now an on-site Airbnb) complete the scene. The estate was also a filming location for Netflix's Indian Matchmaking (Season 3, Episode 6).
