An organic estate, grown in harmony with nature.
Family-owned and woman-led, on the edge of Davis. Award-winning wines from a few thousand hand-tended cases a year.
Wine grown in harmony with the land, two miles from downtown Davis.
Great Bear Vineyards is a woman-led, family-owned organic estate on the edge of Yolo County. Owners Jenny and Marcus farm a few thousand cases a year alongside their four children and a small team — hand-tending every vine, fermenting with native wild yeast, and aging gently in oak.
Warm days, nights cooled by the Delta Breeze, and deep Rincon loam soils give our wines their unmistakable poise.
Read our storyDesigned with UC Davis, farmed by hand.
Our vineyard was laid out with UC Davis Viticulture & Enology professors. Jenny completed the UC Davis winemaking program; Marcus is an expert in biological agriculture. The result is a wine program rooted in science and patience — certified organic, sustainable and regenerative, with deficit irrigation and permanent cover crops.

A Spanish-style winery and canary palms, a lavender field whose fresh-cut proceeds go to local charities, peppery estate olive oil, and a mixed orchard much of which is donated to Community Harvest and the Yolo Food Bank. Nesting owls, kestrels, hawks and hummingbirds share the rows with jackrabbits, cottontails and the occasional red fox.
An estate made for gathering, season after season.
Real days on the farm — from harvest mornings and lawn picnics to weddings, dinners and Friday nights under the canary palms.
